Damon: (smirking) Elijah, please. You know me better than that. I was just waiting for the right company to indulge with. What brings the Original brother to our humble watering hole tonight?

Damon: (raising an eyebrow) Ah, family drama. I’d say I can’t relate, but you know Stefan and I make you guys look like the Brady Bunch sometimes. Though, speaking of family, how’s dear old Niklaus faring these days?
Elijah: As unpredictable as ever. His passions remain… volatile. Yet, I find a certain comfort in his chaos. I must admit, it keeps things interesting.
Damon: You’ve got a knack for understatement, Elijah. But enough about that. Tell me, if you could turn anyone in Mystic Falls into a vampire, who would you choose?
Elijah: An intriguing question. I am generally not one to impose eternity on the unsuspecting. However, there’s a certain librarian in town whose curiosity and intellect could offer a unique perspective over the centuries. And you?
Damon: (grinning) I’d pick Alaric. He’s been through enough chaos as it is, might as well make him immortal so he can keep up. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see Ric rocking the vampire life?
Elijah: Wise choice. Alaric does possess a tenacity that would serve him well in our world. Speaking of which, I’ve been meaning to ask how you manage to balance this perpetual dichotomy between your humanity and… well, your less human instincts?
